I am a promotional products distributor and graphic designer. Most of my experience has been in sign design.

This was designed for a hockey jersey screen process imprint.

This isn't really a logo as we judge them.

But, regardless, it is really busy. I would simplify it to the bare essentials. Lose the yellow paw, the pads of the paws. The eyes are reverses of each other, if that makes sense. The perspective and size ratio between the paws and the head look off to me. I would redo the paws completely actually.

I will give you an example of 2 logos for my local hockey team:

BAD-

MUCH BETTER-

So- Hopefully this illustrates what I am talking about. Simplicity, balance, a good graphic mark with an appropriate font.

VS.

Busy, cartoony, and poorly executed.

Hope this helps.

I actually really like this, very old school American approach to a teams logo and although what G13 suggested was correct about the new approach to logo design you can't discredit this approach.

Few minor things I've spotted:
• The black in the paws is a little strong, perhaps make them a shade of brown to lessen the contrast.
• The nails need a bigger stroke around them.
• one of the nails is also behind the "C" and looks odd - bring it over the top.
• There is a stray line from the chin onto the "D"
• Perhaps remove the paw at the bottom.
• The white tap on the sticks is getting lost even at this size, either lose them or change the colour. You could even put the paw print on there perhaps?
• Not sure if I like the "S"'s being made bigger or not.
• The yellow curved line under the name has a pointed edge at the end, I would hide this behind the "S"'s or the green back plate (hard to explain)

Hope this helps and good effort, must have taken a while!

Overall it's not a bad logo, but it has problems:
• Paw print unnecessary
• Illustration needs to be simpler and more powerful
• Typography is falling apart

The guys before me said it all. Take a look at some contemporary sport teams logos for inspiration and try to come up with a better solution
