Brief from client 

It seems like no one can pronounce my family name correctly, so why bother making it more readable?

Interesting idea. Since the family name is not readable, why not skew it to make it a reflection or shadow

Call me the crazy one but as a logo.... I can't help but disagree on why this would be effective?

Your description is:

"It seems like no one can pronounce my family name correctly, so why bother making it more readable?"

That thought process on design is a little dangerous, you would WANT people to remember your logo, so making it illegible will make them forget it (or want to atleast!)

Although I'm loving the font, I'd find some way to spell it out anyway, it may be kinda cool to see it spelled phonetically or dictionary style!
