Brief from client 

student graphic designer logo concept

Personal logo design using my initials to make up the logo. Looking for critiques.

Solid idea, I just think the curves need to be cleaned up a bit. The space between the got of the J and the S is not consistent. The thickness of the S varies wildly and the bottom of the S does not connect well with the j.

Im not 100% sold on the circle around the whole thing.

Try this same idea with other fonts. I would use one that is the same thickness throughout each letter, as the uniform width will be less distracting.

This is a good idea, but if you take a second to step back and look at the S it looks un natural, looks kind of forced in the top section. try to make that flow more natural and i think you have a solid logo.
