Your PD element is off center! I would also clean up the area where the top of the D meets the P to make it nice and smooth.
I am usually a fan of really tight (or really loose) kerning, but I feel like this logo may be a little too tight. I would back the kerning down a bit in "photodesign" and let it breathe a bit.
You are on to something here, it just needs some tweaks! =)
I see it too. I think the PD is probably centered physically but is off center visually because of the hard corners on the left and a long arch on the right. It definitely needs to nudged right to center it visually.
In that case, it's not the kerning (space between individual characters) that is too tight but the tracking (the general spacing evenly distributed between each character).
That being said, the kerning is way off too.
The composition isn't working either. Since you added a registered trademark sign (which you really don't need) and included in the centered justification, the word mark is off center.
Globally, I'm not really feeling this. The PD thing in the symbol doesn't really work. It clearly lacks some good ol' research and sketchin', something too many people seem to discard as superfluous or too time-consuming while being the most important part of the process.

Oops you got me. My old professors would be so disappointed! lol You are correct, I did mean tracking not kerning in my post.
