Brief from client
I'm trying to create my first logo for myself (photographer and videographer freelance). The image, is a human head, with a iris as eye and the purple thing represets the flash camera. I'm looking for a vintage style, but for the moment I have this.

Let me preface this by saying none of this is intended to be mean as this is your first go at this.
I'm sorry but I can't see anything you mentioned. I definitely don't see a human head. I see the camera shutter but it and everything else looks randomly placed. I don't understand how the "purple thing" represents a camera flash. The font has poor readability.
Since this is new to you I can't stress enough the importance of putting your ideas on paper first. You don't have to be good at drawing/sketching but get your ideas down on paper first. Really think out your concept. Don't use too many elements. Start simple with colors. Search the internet for logos that give you inspiration. Get back to paper and eventually take to your computer to build the logo and, by all means, come back and post it here. There are a lot of designers here with a lot of experience and great feedback.
Good luck to you and I look forward to seeing you evolve this logo.
Sorry, I cannot see the human head and I could not see the purple thing as a flash camera.
Do you have to have a website as your name? I would remove the (www) and the (.com) and have the type straight.
Any time you need to describe an object, (of any kind) as a 'thing' or 'stuff' it isn't something you should use (in any way).
:)
I totally agree with the above comments.
I'll add that 3 out of 4 photographers who upload their logo here have that damn aperture thing. It's getting really old now.
Good luck!
hello ! since you are a photographer I reccomend you to go to a designer to make you a log, you can pay it by helping him with some photographs he/she needs or something like that :D
No. If you need a pro to create your logo, please don't pay him with anything else that real money. Graphic design is a real job, not something you do for free or for peanuts.
