Plastisolv Logo

Brief from client
Design a logo for a start-up dealing in automotive windscreen repair and plastic / fiberglass components repair and replacement.
Must use BLUE.

I was playing with the idea of dynamism and innovative solutions with the logo icon / symbol. Precision too.
So I warped a ribbon into a but shape but made it NOT seamless (what does that even mean?) to create a P initial with whitespace.
This is my first idea. Client insists on FIVE unique but thats my problem. :-)
Also, is it a good idea to have the icon on the right as I have done or its better on the left? Is it a subjective/creative decision or are there instances where placing the logo on the right is ideal?

Well, in my humble opinion the symbol can be placed right or left- however you the designer thinks it should be. But because you have an odd spelling (the E has been omitted at the end) I would move it left so it doesn't seem like it is "taking place" of the E.
I am not a fan of your font, the differing stroke weights of the letters is bothersome to me, and seems a bit more playful than what you need here.
I also think your lighter blue color could be adjusted a bit, it seems a bit acid compared to the darker blue. I would suggest lightening the shade a bit.
This not off to a bad start! Good luck with the other 4 =) Come back with a revised version!
Yes, this definitely appears to be a preinstalled computer font (Gill Sans Bold, if I'm not mistaken.)
I'm not 100% sold on the symbol either. It feels like the bottom gap should be wider. Also agree on the colors. There's too much of a contrast between the two shades, making it a bit jarring. I'd choose a middle ground here.
This is a good starting point. Good luck!
