Plustek

Brief from client

Plustek sells usb sticks with the customers logo on it.

it is going on a product that is branded with a customer’s name the logo can’t be too dominant when placed on the usb or the individual box it comes in, they are thinking black boxes with a small white plustek on each end and also to be engraved on the metal casing of the port.

Target Audience:
Business owners, marketing managers/consultants

"Due to the shape of where it is positioned I think a landscape logo would be best but it could also have a portrait version which may be used on the outer boxes."

So let me get this straight.. you are putting a picture of a usb drive within a logo design that is going on a usb drive?

Auk's picture

Yes.

Well if you wanna get technical it's also going on a box that the usb is in.

Hmmm.. ok.

Well, in my opinion, that is a bit too literal. I would go a different direction. Off the top of my head I can't think of any successful branding where the graphic mark is of the product.

I have done this exact same thing, sort of. I look back on it and am not that happy about it. But I don't hate it either : ). Here it is--->

This went on packaging.. so it actually did make sense...

If yours is going on the packaging, not just on the sticks themselves.. it might work.

For mine- just the text was hologrammed on the screen protector.

This is off topic but I just want to say that brewing co. logo in your portfolio is
awesome.

Thanks- that one actually got me another job recently.

If you go this route- how about replacing the "L" with the stick instead of just plonking it on top of the name?

Auk's picture

You don't think that would be too "cheesy" for a logo that's trying to look professional? going to try it and see what it looks like.

I thought it would be a good idea to put the product in the logo because if you look at it you know right away what they are about.

Which does make sense for packaging, like I said above.

As far as cheesy- Not any cheesier than having it just plopped on top :P

Good point lol
