Well, its a good idea. But I would suggest a little more work on your symbol. I would use one stroke weight for all (it appears your foam is a tad heavier).
Then work on the line work- how the bottom of the mug is formed is weird, and I think you can arrange the central lines to look a bit more like rain. Also, the handle- it looks a little small in proportion to the mug.
Fixing those little details will really elevate this logo. Good start!!
Thank you very much for your feedback I'll work on the details! Glad you liked it!
Every once in a while, we get a really cool logo. And in my humble opinion, this one of them. I'll go as far as to say that this is one of the best we have had here in a long while. It's simple, shrewd and memorable. Wam bam, thank you mam! ;)
I agree that the symbol needs a bit of fine tuning, especially on the foamy part being a bit thicker that the rest, as Joy aptly pointed out. The base doesn't really bother me though. This is symbol is really cool, because I first saw a regular beer mug, read the word mark and then saw the cloud and rain! So cool.
That's a pretty bang on job. Congrats.
Thank you so much for your comments! I'm working on the details, I'll upload them as soon as possible, seems we're going on the right way here! Than you again!
Yea this looks really cool! I agree with the above comments about the symbol.
I thumbs downed you on the typography only because I believe that the subtext shouldn't be in exactly the same font as the main text. I think all it needs is to have the middle lines of each letter taken out and perhaps slightly less bold.
Good Job overall though.
Ok I'll try a different font pairing and do something about the lines! Thank you very much!
I agree with the stroke weight comments. As for the font, I think the inline takes away from the entire font. I saw the beer mug raincloud immediately, but in the smaller version, the text was muddled. Go for something solid..Serif for the main font and san serif for the sub text.
Awesome work!!!
Thank you! I'll try it!
I actually disagree with the rest that the thickness of the foam on top is a problem.
I got it automatically that it is supposed to be a cloud that is raining, and clouds are thicker than actual rainfall. If anything, if you're going to make the foam thicker, make it super obvious.
I do agree with Erin's comment about the thickness of the cloud being thicker versus the rest of the design - it works well on this concept and I would not change a thing. I don't there is a need to indicate the bottom of the beer mug, as the symbol is strong and solid on its own, plus the handle below the cloud makes no mistake about it. The font needs to be solid and could be different, too. The only thing that bugs me about is the mentioning of the " bar " twice. Other then that a very well done concept and a memorable one for sure.
Other than using a solid font for BEER & GRILL, I'd say you have it.
First of all, the idea is Great, but the symbol still can be better. The biggest problem is font. It looks OK in a big graphic, but when it shrink to the smaller place, it will be very unbalanced with your symbol.
