Brief from client
Client requested logo for automotive shop be patriotic-themed and slick looking. Owner of the shop is a veteran, so the red/white/blue feel was very important to him.

Sorry, this is not working either.
The curbs of the symbol needs some serious tweaking, it looks like they've been done in 5 min straight on the computer without any prior sketching.
The kerning is way off and also needs some major fine tuning.

This is okay, Shawali is right about the curves. I think the vertical line in front of the text doesn't work at all. I think the shape of the car is basically okay, but the type style and arrangement doesn't work for me.
Aside from what's already been said, it just looks really typical to me. That may be what your client wants but every "Jimmy's Auto Shop" has the red white and blue scheme with some kind of scheme like this. Fix the shape of your lines, lose the vertical line, try bringing the front of the car to be inline with the end of your text, and I would try some completely alternate design ideas to present your client.
