This is for a website where users share photos and technical details about drones they've built.
I felt the angled lines were important, so I added a couple back in.

Shhhh, maybe he won't notice ;) I think the lines help distinguish it as a cutting mat while giving it a little style.

It does not seem necessary to me to add those two lines. And to be honest, the whole cutting mat thing should be let go as well. Again, you should get rid of the superfluous tidbits and strip this done to the bear minium.
Be brave and kill those whimsy lines and focus on that propeller =)
I'm afraid without the mat it'll become a generic "drone" logo that could mean anything. I like the mat because it expresses the concept that the site is for building and not racing, aerial photography, etc.
