Sardinia Core is a web resource for selling unique holidays in the center of Sardinia (Italy).
The company offers especially experiences with local guides who introduce customers to the most authentic activities such as picnic in the mountains with the shepherds, boat trip with the fishermen, but also very peculiar archaeological itineraries.
The client wants the logo give the idea of adventure and would like to include some or all of these elements:

The website features an interactive map with pins to point out different places to go.

The head alone looks kind of creepy (especially with the slight smirk on the lips).
If it was more evident that it was a statue then maybe...
Also the large CORE looks like too much emphasis is on that word.
