like the idea, i just have a problem with the colors (background) and the glow/drop shadow behind the icon.
I like the colors.. if there was no glow/shadow. If you need that to pop, maybe just make it a bit lighter. Otherwise, it looks good.
Same! I think that glow/drop shadow behind the icon doesn't work this way! maybe lighter but dunno!
I think you can come up with a better idea than roofs. The two blues are not working together. Also, the drop shadows are not necessary.
If you remove drop shadow execution will look more professional.
Regarding colors... you need stronger contrasting colors, dealers post big 'house for sale' signs in front of properties they are selling and logo needs to be highly visible from a distance.
And for last about your idea... rooftops is a burnt out idea, every real-estate dealer in the world and his mother have a rooftop in their logo.
If you want your logo to be really creative, you need a new idea.
