SharpSetup

Brief from client
The logo should be distinguishable on 16x16px format so it cannot have too many details. All competitors use an arrow in their logos (in various forms) so this is an option to consider. SharpSetup is a computer program that helps software developers to write installers for their desktop applications, in a way similar to InstallShield, InstallAware or Advanced Installer.

This is a very boring logo. Doesn't look like much work was put into it. I'd hire a pro and have a new one.
As for being boring: the SharpSetup software is, well, boring (B2B application). Plus it integrates with Visual Studio 2012 (have a look at their logo). So I think it might be a nice fit.
Do you mean the idea of the logo is bad in itself or just that it doesn't have a final touch that it should have?
It's bad because it looks like it was done in 5 minute, straight on the computer. It doesn't show any prior thinking and sketching. In the end, nothing really happens with this logo, hence it's super boring and unappealing.
Well, I don't know how much thought has been put into this specific one. I certainly know that several other ideas were presented to me and this one seemed to fit my requirements best (simplicity was one of the most important).
While I am trying to understand your point of view I would like to know whether logos of eg. Visual Studio 2012, Scottish Arts Council, Opel, Renault and Mercedes do show "prior thinking and sketching" in your opinion. And if so how can it be seen (remember I am not a graphic designer).
Looks like it was done in 10 minutes
looks like a 3Dish Biohazard Symbol
There is a fine, yet distinctive line between simplicity in effective design and making something quickly and calling it a logo. What do the shapes mean to your overall brand idea? Why triangles? What does it represent and how does it relate back to what you are trying to accomplish? These are some question I would pose. It appears that the thought process what: "SharpSetup is the name. Triangles have sharp edges." This just looks like the Zelda triforce.
