Brief from client
Logo to represent the Soup Grant Company specifically the Lansing Branch. They host get togethers to raise grant money, everyone who wants to brings soup to the get together for people to eat while talking.
So I wanted a simple logo that represents aspects of the company, so for the soup aspect I used a soup bowl with a spoon (I tried without the spoon and it wasnt clear that it was a bowl) also the type font is also supposed to be like Cambell's soup font. The top is my simple vectorizing of the capitol of Lansing.

I don't like it, them fonts.. them black and red? maybe your icon can be simpler and red, with a black font, make sure they're spaced properly. Await instructions from more experienced designers :)
Did you create the dome and the bowl yourself? I have to ask but the the font work looks totally off on the otherwise neat background.
Yes everything was drawn by me, no sample bullshit.
Some buildings can be copyrighted, so be darn sure if you use a famous building in your logo that you are allowed to.
The Sydney Opera House is one example. They will sue you good and proper if you use their building in anything without permission.
The capitol building is state property and is free for all to use, there are hundreds of companies using the capitol in there logos.
A different problem then arises. If 100s of companies are using this building in their logos, why do you also want to use it in yours? :)
Maybe try to break away from the Capitol Building, or just use a less famous part that would set you apart.
