Founded in 2008, Space Chimp Media is a creative digital marketing and design agency based in Austin, TX. The companies main focus is on web design, ui design, and creative digital buzz marketing campaigns.
The logo is designed to touch on the essence of the companies creativity. It is meant to be as unique as the brand name itself. We wanted people to look at the logo and say "Wow, i can really see this is a creative group". The logo can be easily used in multiple different formats for web usage.

Scripts like this are usually designed to connect and look like one "stroke."
The way the "m" and "p" in chimp are connected is the right idea. See attached for examples.
Why did you choose the retro type? Was it an intentional choice that is related to the company, or did it just look cool?
If you stay with the retro type, you may want to give the chimp a more retro look.
If you do go with the retro look, there are much cooler things you can do with the chimp. Google "retro space illustrations." Think Jetsons.
the biggest problem will be that you are a digital marketing agency. The finish on the chimp still looks quite amateurish. I know you haven't listed branding as a service you provide. But your customers will see the logo and may not be impressed with your design ability, therefore expect the same level of design in the websites.
Its not awful, just expect better from someone that is running a digital agency.
You have the chimp sticking its tongue out? the chimp has no space reference. How about putting the chimp inside a glass "globe" helmet?

Not your fault, but the company's name immediately reminded me Mailchimp. Surprisingly your monkey looks like the hand drawn version of their chimp's face. This is too much coincidence for me:)
