Brief from client
Hi everyone! It's been a loooong time since my last upload, Unfortunately I have been away from design and forced to work in another area, but a local company asked me to make a logo for them.
This is a company that builds and repairs roofs, the client wanted a classic, emblem-like, monochromatic logo. They want a "vintage" feel due to their long history. The actual logo (in the comment) was made by a design company to refresh the company image but after a year the client regretted the choice, so they gave me freedom to make something completely different from what they have. They don't want a minimalistic logo...

Awesome. No wonder they regretted the other logo. Nice job!
If I had any comment, it would be to check the perspective of the windows and the rooflines. But that might just be my eye.
Thank you, i'll take a second look at it :D
This looks very neat!
Although the central ribbon pointing up kinda bugs me. It's at odds with the very horizontal wordmark. I'm also not a fan of the 3 cut-off lines on each side and top of it.
A few tweak here and there and this logo will go from good to great :)
Keep it up!
I agree with you on that. I think it is trying to mimic a roof line. Perhaps the wordmark could angle a bit to match the ribbon/roof.
Great idea but too many details and outlines. I understand customer's not a fan of minimalist logo but too much detail is also not good. This being said you'll have problem with business card, memo and similar smaller applications.
Ribbon and company title are not compatible this way. Might work better if splitting company title into 2 lines but also making ribbon's central symmetrical - bottom line pointing downwards instead.
I like this kind of American classic style!
