The Barking Barber

Brief from client
Didn't get much of a critique on this last time, so I'm uploading it in black and white.
I like the lettering a lot and the head of the dog with the mustache, The arms hidden inside the best look a little weird, like he's hiding something. Also like Chippendales since the dog is kind of muscular.
At first I thought it was for a trendy hipster barber shop, since im not familiar with the brand. And even though it has a dog in it. (Hey there's a brewery called the Belching Beaver.) A little search on google found designcontest.com on this brand https://www.designcontest.com/logo-design/the-barking-barber/entries/
(the winning logo has a poodle with scissor jabbed in its head, lol)
There is actually a mobile dog grooming business in my city called The Barking Barber. I designed the advertising for his entire mobile bus and business.
My beef -and I think I said this the first upload- is with the G and the pup's shoulders. It's very well done for sure- but I would trim (pun intended) the tail (two in a row) off of the G, it messes with the spacing a bit. And his arms look like they are inside of his suspenders. =)
No, kidding. I don't want to show the paws, I kind of like that they look like they're folded in. Maybe crossing his arms in front of him would be a better idea.
Is that suppose to be a dog or rat? Because It looked like a rat in thumbnail and with the word Barking added it confused me pretty good. I would of just used that pair of scissor as a basis to design a dog over it to show creativity to the client.
I'm not sure how putting a dog over a pair of scissors is creative, and I'll respectfully disagree that it looks like a rat. You are the only person out of everyone who's seen it that couldn't tell that it was a dog.
After reading everyone else's thoughts, here are mine: I think the letter spacing is fine with the tails, but my problem is that I thought it read "Barring" from the thumbnail. Once I saw the dog, looked at it again, and realized my mistake. As far as the arm folding thing, I would agree it looks a little weird. I like the concept of the arms being hidden though, so maybe you could show a kink for the elbow as though the arms are crossed behind his back?

Trimming the tail is probably a good idea.
AND MAYBE THEY ARE INSIDE HIS PANTS ;)
