Brief from client
Long time no see.
I help run a 10k+ film enthusiast group, and the admins are putting together a podcast. We've dubbed it "The Kinocast", and the logo I suggested is an amalgamation of a lighthouse and a professional microphone.
Why a lighthouse? Because The Lighthouse is kino.

Long time no see for me too!
I'd like to see the top maybe a bit more rounded to complete the microphone. The beacon is sufficient for the lighthouse to be recognizable.
Great job!
Hey welcome back Erin! and Killswitch too ;)
So, this is looking pretty cool already but I think there is room for improvement.
First of, the symbol itself. I didn't get that it was supposed to represent a mic of a radio mic and a lighthouse. I only see the former. Maybe because the mic looks too large and not high enough. Or that the lighthouse is too detailed. You could try to make the mic more prominent and just add a few details to suggest a lighthouse.
The second thing is the placement of the "the". It kinda throw this otherwise vertically centred logo off balance. Maybe you could insert in inside the symbol.
Good job over all. It's looking really cool already and with a few touch up here and there, it'll be even better!
Don't be a stranger!
Hey !
So many months later, again, (pandemic year has been hell), I thought I'd come and give an update.
The rounded top that made this more like a microphone was the first option I showed them. Since lighthouses can absolutely have round tops. They all rejected it in lieu of the pointy top, it was unanimous. So they took this logo as is.
Honestly, I didn't do it for my normal rate, I did it in exchange for them buying me Criterion copies, so I didn't spend a ridiculous amount of time on it. So no worries :)
oh, and recently, like within the last few weeks, i completely deactived Facebook. so I'm not even adminning the group anymore, though I'm still in group chats with the admins.
