The Rainbow Run

Brief from client
To create a logo for a charity run without using any running images as the event is also meant as a walking and wheelchair event for the elderly and disabled, however they want to keep the name 'The Rainbow Run'. The logo should use loads of colour as the event is going to be throwing Powder Paint at the participants.
Would be great to get some feedback on this as I like the image a lot but I'm not sure on the lettering and spacing. I like it but do you?

background is taking away from the actual image (logo) try using a different rainbow
Ouch no, this not working at all. In fact, this way too unpractical for even be a logo.
The background is way to random and complex. And the text is totally lost in the middle. And my bullshit sensors tell me there is some bevel/emboss shenanigans going here. Get rid of it at once!! And never use it again. Same goes with the drop shadow. Never should you use in a logo.
I'd restart this one from scratch not before having got a lot of inspiration from www.logopond.com or www.fromupnorth.com
