The main font is interesting. But unfortunately, this is the only thing that works in this logo.

First off, it's really obvious that the symbol has been drawn over a photograph. This is a mistake, mainly because it wasn't meant to be used in a logo. You also don't control the way it looks and it behaves since you did not 100% create this yourself. A golden rule here is to never use any third party elements, may it be stock vectors or photographs, in your logo design. It should be 100% you and no one else. Just never use any photographs ever in a logo, even if you trace it or draw over it.

Now, the font work. As I said the word mark is working. It has character and has the Asian feel that fits the business its depicting. Now, the subtext is just horrendous. It's way too big and fights with the word mark for attention. Also, you probably pick the worst possible font. It doesn't match the main one at all and it's terribly boring. This serif font is to be used for long text blocks and certainly not in a logo.

So to conclude, this logo doesn't work one bit. It's poorly thought through, uninspired and quite frankly, lazy. Now, what to do? Simply follow a proper creative process. Which includes, but is not limited to, RESEARCH (look at the competition, their brand strategy, and identity), INSPIRATION (www.LogoPond.com www.Dribbble.com www.Pinterest.com) and more importantly: HAND SKETCHING.

I cannot stress enough how important this last phase is. Free of all limitations that a computer imposes on you, you have a direct link between your brain and the tip of your pencil. Simply sketch on and on and on. For hours if need be. This way you can organically form up ideas and lay them down on paper. It's almost magical sometimes, as you come up with stuff you wouldn't have been able to work out on Illustrator.

Keep at it!
