It kind of feels a bit generic. The beaker associates with labs, but nothing tells me about graphic design. Perhaps experiment with artistic elements and see what you come up with.

I will say this about the logo itself, however, if you do decide to keep the beaker. Toward the top you have a sharp angle where the glass opens up. Just gotta watch your shapes a bit.

2nd version has the better typography, as well.

Yeah, that what I though at first too. Way too generic and expected. It severly lacks some personality.
