Chestnut Café

I'll go easy on ya since you are new to this =) I like the idea you were aiming for- using the chestnut shape for the coffee mug. I think you could have refined this some more. Starting with ditching that stoke with a gradient in it! Ditch the gradient all together in this design. (Hell, I usually say ditch gradients in every design!) Also, the mug looks empty! So aside from there being a handle, there isn't much suggesting coffee, or beverage, or mug or anything else. This makes the design look either A) not finished or B) rushed and not well thought through. As for the font- there isn't anything wrong with it, it's just really boring.
You need to work out your symbol first- then try to find a complimenting font. (try not to use a standard font, that almost always looks boring. or cheap.)
Keep exploring the chestnut idea. Do lots of research and lots of sketching!
This is off to a good start.....but far from done! Keep at it =)

Idea: very interesting, keep working on it.

Symbol: Too much gradient, maybe one details to make the difference like the smoke for the coffee. Keep it simple as logo should be.

Typography: Does not match the idea. Try something more natural like handwriting or something eco freindly.

Colors: Two colors is great. Three is a maximum. Try to use the color wheel (or opposite color). Try this website:

This is a great first step!
Now, refine it a few times, and then a few more, and when you absolutely love it, show us it again!

Bon ce logo n'est pas top mais c'est pas grave, tu es là pour apprendre =) Mon premier conseil est de ne pas commencer à créer directement ton logo sur l'ordinateur. Essaye de suivre un processus créatif qui pourrait un peu ressembler à ça:

- Dans un premier temps, fait des recherches. Renseigne toi sur le type de marché que tu veux aborder, regarde ce qu'il se fait en matière de charte graphique, d'identité, de strat, etc.

- Ensuite, va chercher l'inspiration sur des chouettes sites comme www.logopond.com, www.fromupnorth.com and créé toi un compte Pinterest si tu ne l'a pas déjà fait. L'inspiration est le fuel de ta créativité. Quand tu auras ingurgité plein de logos plus top les uns que les autres, tu te sentiras invincible =)

- Enfin, éteint ton ordinateur, chope une ramette de papier et des crayons et crobarde, crobarde et crobarde encore. Et quand tu penses en avoir terminer, crobarde encore! Tu verras, les idées viendront comme par magie dans ton esprit, à condition d'y passer du temps. C'est un processus beaucoup plus organique que de bidouiller des trucs directement sur Illustrator en se laissant guider par les outils que t'offre le soft. Evite également d'utiliser ces dégradés un peu crades, ça fait cheap =)

J'espère que tout ça t'aidera un peu. Ce n'est oas toujours facile quand on débute, mais avec du temps et du boulot on y arrive. D'ici quelques années, quand tu regarderas ce logo, tu te diras "comment j'ai pu faire ça!!" =)

N'hésite pas à poster d'aurts versions de ton logo. Bon boulot et à bientôt!

Good this logo is not top but it does not matter, you're here to learn =) My first advice is not to start creating your logo directly on the computer. Try to follow a creative process that might look a bit like this:

- First, do some research. Learn about the type of market you want to look at, look at what it is doing in terms of graphic charter, identity, strat, and so on.

- Then, get inspiration on nice websites like www.logopond.com, www.fromupnorth.com and create a Pinterest account if you have not already done so. Inspiration is the fuel of your creativity. When you have ingested a lot of logos more top than the others, you will feel invincible =)

- Finally, turn off your computer, pick a pile of paper and pencils and crobard, crobarde and crobarde again. And when you think you have finished, still crush! You will see, the ideas will magically come into your mind, provided you spend time there. It's a much more organic process than tweaking tricks directly on Illustrator by letting yourself be guided by the tools that the software offers you. Also avoid using these gradients a bit dirty, it makes cheap =)

I hope that will help you a little. It's always easy when you start, but with time and work you get there. In a few years, when you look at this logo, you will say "how I could do that !!" =)
