Logo required for Basement Apes Recording Studio
Ok. So hats off to Geracao Ideias for a very nice concept in the comments of my last version.
I've decided to try something along similar lines.
Try to make all of the line of text the same length, and do not use dodgy text shadows. Make sure you use the same typeface for each line, and don't compress and distort it in any direction.
I agree with what was stated above- the text is all off here. Make it all the same width and it'll look a lot better. Hell, I might even cut 'basement' into two lines and make it into a block-type logo!?!
Either way, the symbol is a lot more interesting/fun than what you had before, but the type needs a lot of work!
i like the symbol, much better than the previous versions, but now you really need to work on the fonts and the overall composition of the logo, its way off how you have it at the moment. one idea i have would be to have your symbol on the left then make the lettering appear as if its the cord from the headphones, i done a logo once with the same idea heres an upload of it to try and give you some inpiration
Well I sure don't like any of the suggestions uploaded so far, but I don't think mine is much better. (I hate that basement is split up- but MAN it's such a long word!) I think they're all too spread out or just don't make sense. (Why would the ape be in jail, you know?) I originally had all of the text stacked on top/bottom of the ape but then it was so tall. I dunno, just tossing it out there!
I agree and this is the main issue I've been grappling with. That's why I'm currently leaning towards the circular idea. This is another one I had without the ape. I like the balance of this:-
Hi there. I like the illustration, but the typography isn't working in my opinion and the other suggestions are a bit wayward typographically too. I think that a stacked version as I have illustrated may work. I have the ape peering over it too to suggest that he is in a basement. Very rough, although I think that the type may work like this. I hope this helps a little bit.
i like it. i'm gonna follow up on this. something along these lines. maybe turn the text into a building and the ape into something a little more King Kong :)

Not a fan of the type layout.
I WOULD GO FOR GERACAO IDEA's Either are a winner!
i think the type is not the right for this design, maybe if you try another, and the distribution is wrong to, well but the ape is cool.
I like the ape, it's original and a bit funny. Perhaps you could give "BASEMENT" the round shape of a headband of the headphones.

something like this perhaps? (colour optional)
hmmmm kind of.. i hate that font tho and you've pinched the end of my cord!
this is another idea i had. any thoughts? (yes, i'm on a pink trip today)
Maby try something like this?
like that! could turn the poles coming out of the apes hands into drum sticks
I like this idea!

I think that you have to work a little more the fonts that you used.
