Apex Wood Shop

Brief from client
Friend of mine gave me the reigns on this logo for a small side practice wood shop he is starting.
I downsized the text and icon so it isn't so cramped!
I like this, but if you're planning on using it as a woodburned brand, the lines are too fine and close together. When the hot metal stamp is put on the wood, the char spreads a bit, and smaller details will be lost (including the words "wood shop")
Try using bolder, larger letters and don't put too many fine line close together.
If this were just for print, I think it works ok, though I agree it needs some wiggle room.
unterm rad makes a good point about the thickness of the letters and the logo burnt into wood. Think about if it were a stencil with spray paint or ink stamp onto wood. If those are ways the logo will be applied, I'd suggest letters and lines with the same thickness as the white shape line you used.
Overall - I like the execution. My two cents.

Version 1 worked better for me. Everything seemed to fall into place pretty nicely and I didn't get that cramped feeling.
Very nice job! i prefer this version, it lets each item breathe a little more.
Look forward to seeing some other logos from you!

I certainly liked the version 1, the colors are better than this version.
But like remains a great job.
Nice.
I would set the leading at the same height as the space between the icon and APEX.
Thanks for your feedback everyone!
