Don't feel as if this is logo material, not vector enough, or just too busy, but I like how it looks shiny and clean?

Nah, avoid having over the top effect like this, it just gets in the way of a good legibility of the logo. Keep things simple.

I do think this is a bit too dark. It was light and breezy before - and fresh, conveying that idea of cleaning and brightness.
