Brief from client 

so I have to pitch a logo to a medical database company. They maintain data for organizations.

Grey for knowledge and blue for health. Could use some heavy critique on this as it is for a pitch. Thank you :)

I think you may be onto something here. The DNA genotype is a great way to symbolize the of data with a scientific twist. Just make sure with the client that a genotype isn't too "genetic" and not "medical" enough.

The C and the S in the negative space is also a really idea that mesh with the genotype really well.

Now you're not done yet. First, keep your symbol straight up, keep things simple. I'm not really feeling the font. It's a bit too blend and don't give much personality to your logo.

Keep it up, you're on the right track!

"Now you're not done yet" kills me every time lol

I've personally loved these iterations so far. Especially the fonts and colors. I don't mind the font actually but the one in your second version had a stronger type in my eyes. Maybe try that?
