Brief from client
A meaningless logo just for fun. Practising with font pairings and typography etc.
Shaggier lettering. A bit of colour.
Any suggestions as to further improve please let me know.
I don't really have anything else to add. You wanted to make a fun logo and you did. I think the amount of scruff is perfect. The extra pop of red works nicely. You'll have to pick another animal/being now. ;)
The tedious way would be to carefully trace your outlines with the pencil tool to get a natural randomness to the variations. You might, MIGHT, be able to pull it off using a very slight amount of the Roughen filter in Illustrator. Make sure you have your document in pixels though so you can dial it in if you go this route.
Past that, I'm open to hear what anyone else has to say as well.

ótima ideia !
Does anyone know an easy way to apply a rough type of texture that roughens up the edge of the letters as well? - something like this:
