OBVS Brand Solutions

Brief from client

My own company (OBVS). Providing affordable branding for small companies. Forget any acronym. I want bright unusual colours - sick of red logos.

Here is my next idea. Not sure about the pointed finger; suppose to represent standing out from the crowd but could be interpreted as No.1 (which I'm not) or a rectal exam???. Maybe the company name just sucks?

I don't think the symbol is working for a print company. There are thousands of things you can do for this business. A hand is just not related. The black outline is very 70's, but not in a good sense.

It's not a bad idea to incorporate a graphic mark inside a word mark however... I don't think pointed finger is a good choice. Explore some more ideas and try to find a mark that will correspond with your business.
Typography... should always complement graphic mark especially if it's inside the word mark. In this case it could work with this mark except for that last 's', it just doesn't look good.
I think colors are less important at this stage. First you need to be sure your logo will work in b&w only. Neon green and black could be a good combination it only depends how you use them in your logo but, as I said before, prioritize:
1. find and create a good mark
2. find and apply matching typography
3. choose colors

Not going to restate the above. But, I would approach the tag differently too. That is a detail that you might have dealt with later, but since it was different in vs 1, I assume you are working on it.
I would leave off "for small business". It doesn't flow and who knows.. you may get big one day. Why limit yourself right in the logo? It might not give the right vibe to potential clients either. If you are affordable, your prices will reflect that.
Just a thought.

i think its cool. i'd remove "for small business" make the other three words bigger, remove 1 finger (unless 6 is what you're going for, for whatever reason), remove all black shown and make logo 1 color... i'd give it a shot, definitely looking good and has potential.
