I like this thing, it would be interesting to see the original crest. 2 things that are bothering me a little. One is the helmet which is optically falling to the left a little. I'm not sure if it can be corrected at all, that's why I'd like to see the original graphic. The other thing is the duplicate name. Once you got it in the crest and then the same name with bigger letters underneath, with a different font type. I think you should make a choice here.
Aaah, I just discovered the original art at your first version. Man, after I saw that I wouldn't give any pencils to this logo you are drawing. Sorry to say that, but if I had such a nice family crest, I'd try to stick to the original as much as possible. I'd probably spend a week to vectorize it perfectly and keep every detail I could. If you don't want to do that, at least you could keep the proportions: smaller helmet, larger shield, the form of the shield, the floral ornament around instead of these modern lines etc.
