The helmet doesn't really say "savage" to me. As far as the symbol goes, I think you were moving in the right direction with the spear. Just not the way it was used in version #1. Right now it looks like clip-art next to text.
I would really think about what says SAVAGE to you.
There is a difference between clean/simple and boring. With a design logo, representing yourself, you want it to be eye-catching and memorable without being complex.
It isn't easy, believe me--- I KNOW!
When I think of SAVAGE, I think of fierce eyes and painted faces.

Were do I start? What Savage means to me? Well when I was 17ish I played a lot of first person shooters. I had this friend Mak10 (what he called himself) who I would play with all the time. When we did something Bad A** we would say " Oh that was Savage" Anyways we ended up starting a computer company called That's Savage. We would build sweet computers for people. Turns out people prefer crappy ones like HP or Dell..you know. So We starting doing repair instead. I was really good at it and business was good but turns out I hate working on other peoples computers. He moved away. I started drawing with them instead so years later here we are. So Since the Beginning I've Been"Savage" Hence the Savage By Design
My problem is working on my own stuff I get this "Design Block"
I actually really like the name. That it has meaning to you should push you that much harder to get the design right. Good luck. Like I said I know it sucks designing for yourself.

I have to disagree with everyone here... I think this is a great concept. The Spartans were renowned to be absolutely vicious in battle so I feel the helmet does lend itself to the concept of 'Savage'. The colouring and typography is simple and impactful, and the helmet can easily be translated into future iconography applications. Great work!!!
Not a bad idea, in my opinion graphic needs some refinement and 'SAVAGE' typography should reflect more on your 'savage' nature.
See, I told you I could be wrong. That is just my opinion. Doesn't mean it's right.
This one is better, but I still don't know that purpose is, why not have a brief or a bit of explanation to help us.
