SOD No Job Too Small

Brief from client
The client's suggestion was using the "O" to have grass running through it similar to the red and blue stripes curving up the "O" from the Obama presidential campaign. This is my first preliminary stab at his idea and I'm trying to think of different ways to take it. It's going to be on trucks and embroidered on shirts as well so I'm trying to keep it simple without being too plain. I just started this today in between projects so any feedback is appreciated.

I like the idea and the execution, however I think the blades of grass should would be better if there were fewer this way when its made smaller they remain very defined. Maybe I'm over thinking it. See what others think.
I would also make the subtext a different font to break it up. It looks like too bold. I feel like the USSR wants to sod my lawn. ;D
I agree with MDCasino about the subtext.
I think you should refine the grass a little bit and you got a fine logo.
The first thing that I thought of before I read the brief was that it looks like the Obama logo so you did a good job with what he asked for. The problem that I have with it, is I really don't think it's a good idea. With that being said, I think the outline around the grass looks a little clunky, maybe eliminate the outline and change the black to some other color. I don't mind the font for the subtext but I would make it a lighter weight and possibly track out the letter spacing.
I think you did a fine job with what they asked for, but I don't see a ton of potential in the idea.
I too like the idea. I agree with above that there should be less blades of grass and I think the slogan line should be in upper and lower or even all lower case letters.
Is it important that this logo stay as 2 colours? It would be nice to see the "O" in maybe a light blue to represent the sky.... or even the inside of the "O"
Show us a few more options, but I think you're at a good starting point.
At first i thought it would be nice to have an stylized versionof grass ... but the messy grass looks fine, except for th e little white dots you can see specially in the right side of the grass, take those out.
I think this logo is simple but effective, still you should consider try another fonts, for both the company name and the slogan. just to explore other options. or you oculd even try to "extend" the grass to the other letter so it has continuity, you should have an option to surprise your client, who knows, maybe it would work beter.
here an idea i played with.
Good idea. My suggestion is work better the outline grass. It is did so much difference...
