Spirit of Truth S.T.E.M. After School Sports Program

At the Spirit of Truth After school S.T.E.M. Sports Program our goal is to teach, enhance, and cultivate the mind, body, and soul of our participants through academic achievement at our After school Program and promoting healthy eating by providing nutritious snacks to tune their bodies for sports, fitness and participation.
Spirit of Truth is unique in that we not only offer a top notch After school Program with a focus on sports science but we also offer a top notch Athletics Program that offers: basketball, nfl youth flag football, wrestling, track, kickball, and cycling. Along with a highly qualified and motivated staff of coaches that have the experience and training to induce progress and production in our student-athletes.
STEM stands for Science Technology Engineering and Math.
This program is geared towards 5th-8th grade boys.
The client's specifications were something that would catch the kids attention. No color preference and something that shows the sports that they offer. The client actually wants to showcase ALL of the sports that they offer (basketball,flag football,track,wrestling,kickball, & cycling), but I refuse! It's already a crowded logo from all of the wording and images.
I need help. Is there too much going on? I'm trying to simplify it, but the client wants to clutter it!

Ignore the off black patches you may see. I forgot to match my blacks to 100%CMYK. Oops.
The logo actually looks good. I would go with evenly aligned letters and make the grunge splatters more expressive and less. I mean grow them in quality not in quantity. The body shapes are fine. Spirit of truth should go somehow aligned and with less weight, After school program also aligned and a bit, just a bit closer to stem.
Everything is ok. The logo can be modified to perfection. 1. Leave only one sport branch silhouette, 2. Align S.T.E.A.M. with "AFTER SCHOOL SPORTS PROGRAM" so that "AFTER" is under "S" and not so much to the left, and "PROGRAM" is right under "M" from the word STEAM, so that visually it would look fine. 3. Again something better should be done for the kerning of the smaller letters under S.T.E.A.M. they cannot go that close to each other, maybe 120%, maybe 150% of the word, right now it looks a little bit like a porridge. Hope that helps.
I think you've got a great idea. However, based on the brief about what the client wants, showing only some sports against their wishes is probably a bad idea since they don't want to be specific. I might go more with a generic collegiate feel similar to network tv sports logos.
The black background splashes somewhat look like a rubbish dump... sorry! I would take those out completely and try to add the missing sports symbols somehow... maybe on top of the S.T.E.M. - Keep the S.T.E.M. out of line like it is now, it gives the logo a youthful "feel". The "Spirit of truth" is also somewhat off - must it really be there? I would write it into one of the upright legs of the "M".
