the idea is fine and the symbol looks okay to me. Perhaps it would be better without the dropshadow and the details on the hilt.
I don't like the font. Those smal serifs irritate the eye. Also in my opinion the green color does not fit. Most antivirus programs have strong colors like red, orange or yellow. The green does not catch the eye.
Thanks for the critiques thus far. I may do with changing the font - but since there's actually plenty of green-colored antivirus software around (ESET, Webroot, Kaspersky Windows defender to name a few) I will have to disagree on it as being "not eye catching".
Yes you are right. I was thinking about avira, mcafee etc. and forgot about the others because I never used them. Sorry for this. I still don't like the green very much but it might be my personal taste.
Work a little on the symbol. It looks too oldschool game. And the type you used is medieval but it shouldn't be for an antivirus. That makes it feel like outdated.
I agree about working on the symbol- the optical illusion of the stroke of the shield being around the bottom of the sword, but then not being around the sides of the sword makes it look kind of funky. Maybe put that same small stroke on the sides of the sword as well?
And the font, I agree with kaosme about the font looking medieval, yes- but up-to-date, no. You might want an anti-virus to look really with the times, and I don't think that font is accomplishing that for you. The whole thing together kind of reminds me of Zelda. But with some tweaks I think it could be fine.
