Brief from client
For my older brother on a new company which he is unable to give men more details on as its to be a secret, and desired to have a tortoise for its logo.
So this is another logo for my brother, and I need some opinions. He hasn't mentioned what colors he would like, so any feedback would be most welcomed!
So far I've gone with a simple turtle/tortoise shape, but I am willing to hear other ideas! I rarely do animal logos since so many have been done.

The font is extremely bland. Looks like the default typeface.
The shell looks a bit awkward too. It looks tilted, and the body looks a bit like a stick-figure.
At least incorporate a bit more detail, like a shell pattern.
"on a new company which he gave no details on" : right there is why you won't be able to come up with a good logo.
A logo should be the graphic interpretation of all these ideas and values that make the brand. If you don't know anything about the company, you just can't make a viable logo.
It's like if you were ask to make a plane but weren't told what kind of plane it needs to be.

Thank you very much, and I've pressed him for more information regarding the company as a designer, it can be utterly impossible to make a logo without such key detail.
