Brief from client
The News needed a rebrand to separate itself from its competitor in the city. They want their new brand to be clean, corporate, and authoritative, but also honest, engaging, and community-driven.
The new look was also to improve the public's perception and solidify its place as the main trusted news source in the community.
A revision to the icon and change of the placement.
I added the chip for some personality/distinction/etc. Something that would make the icon more individual.
Tried out saraqroxy's idea by placing the city names underneath the News. I like it, but I need to check with the client if that's ok since the paper's name is Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows News.
Again, I appreciate any thoughts, suggestions, criticism, etc.

Nice!! And I enjoy the bottom left cut that you give on the red sqare. Good job.
Very nice! The ONLY thing I'd adjust- and it's super tiny- would be to make sure that the M in Maple is left aligned with the left side of News- it looks like it might be just a hair to the right of being perfectly aligned. But I think this is really great! Good job!
