Breadsticks n Bites

Brief from client
A quick serve mall-type Italian food restaurant is adding a baked snack section to one of it's stores. The name of this section is Breadsticks 'n' Bites.
The client wants the logo to be fun, appealing to children and immediately memorable. Examples he gave were Hot Dog on a Stick and Wetzel's Pretzels. He also wanted two colors in the logo that would be echoed through the decoration of the store and all paper products and advertising. Much like the way McDonalds utilises yellow & red.
This is one of my first attempts at logo design and I would really value any critique or suggestions.

I see what you mean about the awning feel and that works, but you should make sure that the logo works without the stripes behind it as well, you know? Maybe you could turn one of the letters into a friendly loaf-looking thing (like making an 'i' or a 't' into a bread loaf?) or something else to make it work as a stand alone logo.
I pretty much dig the colors of this one better than the first one you uploaded - they're warm without being glaring...
Also good font choice, you're right about the rounded/fat font being a good fit for the shop.
One other thing that just popped out at me- is the B slightly bigger than the S in Breadsticks? Maybe it's just an optical illusion, but I'd make sure that both sides match in size... But the more I look at it, it might just be an illusion!
LAST thing, I swear! I think I like the colors here.. and I agree that adding blue might be too cool- but I'm not 100% sold on the green and orange. I like them, don't get me wrong, but I'm not convinced that there isn't a better color choice out there... But then again I have no other suggestions so what the heck. Hehe.... Over all though, I think this is pretty darn great so far!
Thanks saraqroxy, that was a very helpful analysis!
I agree with sara about the stripes, you should try to see if it works without. The font is fine and also agree here with sara about making one of the letter looking like a bread-loaf. I like the colors as they are.
I like it. But i like more number 3 colors
