Brief from client 

A logo concept for a fountain pen club in Seattle, WA.

I am omitting the typography in this version and instead focusing on Stephen's excellent suggestions for changes to the Space Needle. Namely, reducing the detail of the space needle, while increasing its size relative to the nib outline.

Yup, reducing the details on the Space Needle is exactly what I thought when I saw your first post.

Looks great now. Would love to see it with the whole shebang.

100% better with the simplifying. I would say the symbol portion of this is signed, sealed, and delivered.

I love the icon. Great idea and execution. I saw the previous version with the type, and I have a suggestion regarding typography.

Given the nature of the organization, wouldn't it make sense if the text were handwritten instead of typed?

I actually toyed with that idea in earlier versions of the logo, but was abandoned.
